47-year-old Aso Toko is asked by her ex-husband Masaoka Ryosuke to take their 17-year-old daughter Miu under her care because he is leaving for an overseas assignment in London. However, Toko does not have the confidence to live with Miu who is now a high school student. While mother and daughter sling long-held feelings at each other, they try to undo the situation through a process of trial and error. With an age gap of 30 years, Toko finds it difficult to deal with youth while Miu is bewildered by old age. And yet, they are one in body and soul. Theirs is a delicate relationship. And then, the two of them experience the tremulous excitement of love that is age inappropriate. Before long, Toko and Miu get a better understanding of being female and face what it is to be parent and child again.

A competition/survival show to produce a boy group. It starts out with 16 contestants and two teams. The mentors each choose their members based off of their debut performances, and then form pairs within the team. Therefore each team has four pairs of two, and eventually each pair is put up against the other team. There is also three judges who score the performances, and they are quite strict but are very professional, providing rationale to their opinions. At the end of each episode, the teams get ranked, and after some rounds, members get eliminated and the rest gets reorganized to better suit the change. The pairs soon turn into groups of three and so on. The show continues with many powerful performances, revealing significant improvement of the contestants.

Butterfly Fragrance focuses on the early republican days, paying meticulous attention to the wardrobes of the period. Li Yi Feng plays a sweet, rich young master (which isn’t hard to imagine at all, if you catch my drift, those puppy eyes!), while William Chan takes on the cold, heroic, investigator. On the ladies’ side, Tang Yan embodies the spirit of a sweet, strong willed Chinese Woman, in contrast to the nobly charming young mistress of Shu Chang. Moreover, the two ladies often find their interests in conflict with each other (ha, like that’s new in dramaland.) Aside from that, the two families will battle over producing the best incenses in the area.
